Seriously Behind

I know, I am seriously behind. Tell me something I don't know. Sorry, wish I could give a better excuse but I can't.

A Mom's Scare

There is nothing worse then to know your child is some 20 hours away when you learn there has been a randon shooting at one of the sites he's supposed to be visiting. I'm sure most of you all know now that today, around 12:50 pm, there was a shooting inside the Holocaust Museum. A security guard has died and the shooter himself is in critical condition.

I was lucky, I got a phone call before I heard it on the radio or saw it posted on the internet. Contact had been made with Chase and while their class was supposed to have been at the exact museum where the shooting took place, he said their schedule had been changed and they were at Arlington National Cemetery.

I had talked to Chase about mid morning today when I had asked for my daily picture - what I got was a picture of the clouds - what I wanted from him after the shooting scare - was a texted picture of him. (I didn't get it, but it was a thought.)

The White House

Well, I didn't hear from Chase last night or this morning by text, until I rec'd this picture from him around noon of the White House. He said it was big when I asked. I am really amazed at how well his phone takes pictures. This morning he texted his dad that they were at Arlington National Cemetery.

Chase - Washington DC

After multiple loads of laundry, Chase got packed and they left yesterday morning at 7 a.m.; destination the first day of travel - St. Clairsville, OH. I didn't think to take my camera yesterday morning, but did manage to catch a picture with my camera phone but I do think a few people on each end probably got cut out of the picture.

You could have probably spotted Chase without the big yellow arrow, he's the one who is in need of a hair cut.

Chase sent me this picture this morning from his phone. He didn't know where they were yesterday when it was taken, just a spot they stopped for a break and thought it was neat. And he's right, it did make for a neat picture.

They are due to have gotten into Gettysburg, PA around 12:30 pm to tour the battfield and will have supper there and around 6 pm head on to Woodbridge VA to their motel. Mapquest, however accurate that is, shows it to be another 2 hours or so of travel.
